Quote Ganesh...Your story is a fascinating one for many reasons.
Being a person of East Indian decent (born and raised in Canada), I find your personal story to be very interesting.
I'm a practicing Hindu, however, my grandmother on my father's side was Sikh.
I refer to you when dealing with clients in the following way:
I put up a picture of you and I say "here's a guy who was born in Boston, Mass., his father is a Russian Jew, his mother is Irish Catholic.......he's a white guy!....he took up Sikhism at a young age and today he is an accomplished classical musician....but that's not how I know him....I know him for being one of the best sales trainers in North America."
I then go on to tell them the story of when I first saw you present. I comment on your style, your stories, your hand and foot movement, your tone and voice, and your ability to handle questions. Most importantly, I tell them of how you (a short, white, skinny, Sikh man) absolutely owned the audience. I then tell them about the standing ovation received from the audience following the presentation. I tell my clients that you were the person who inspired me to become a better presenter (and thus better at getting my ideas heard). And here I am today, lucky enough to have clients who say that I have fundamentally changed the way that they deliver presentations.
Thanks for being you, Ganesh. Quote
